HOW TO KNOW YOU’RE READY FOR A BOUDOIR SESSION

OCEANSIDE, CALIFORNIA BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHER | 2024

HERE’S THE DEAL-

YOU MIGHT NOT EVER FEEL “READY”. NOT A SINGLE PERSON SHOWS UP TO THER SESSION LIKE, “YES, I GOT THIS. I’M NOT NERVOUS. I WAS BORN READY FOR THIS.” NOT A SINGLE PERSON.

BUT, LUCKY FOR YOU, WHEN YOU BOOK WITH ME, I GUIDE YOU AND LEAD YOU THROUGH THE EXPERIENCE IN A WAY THAT HELPS YOU FEEL LIKE YOU’VE GOT A LITTLE HANDLE ON THE SITUATION + LIKE YOU’VE DEFINITELY GOT THIS. (EVEN WITH MY HELP).

-

You know you’re ready to take the leap and book the session when you feel so entirely excited to submit your inquiry. Chances are, you’ve browsed my work, soaked up all the juicy info I have through my site, and really, the last piece to the puzzle is just reaching out.

Maybe you’ve been working really hard on loving the person you see in the mirror. Maybe you’ve been working through your body dysmorphia, or are trying to speak more kindly to yourself. Maybe you want to also do this as a gift for someone. Maybe you’re not 100% there yet, and that’s okay! You are still, more than ready to do a boudoir session.

A boudoir session is SPECIAL. Being photographed by a professional, is special. It’s also terrifying to consider stepping into a vulnerable space with someone you’ve never actually met. BUT- when you book with me, chances are, you’ll feel like we already know each other before we even ever meet.

The moment you book, you are a priority to me. The moment you book, my focus becomes “how can I ensure that (this very amazing and badass person aka YOU) has the most empowering and incredible experience with me ever?”

The moment you choose to dedicate time and love and energy to yourself, I dedicate my time and love and energy to you.

Most of the time, our fears are a result of wanting to make it “perfect”. We want to feel like we’ve got it alllllllllllll under control- am I right? And when we don’t, it feels scary. This can often lead us to believe we are not ready to do this, when in actuality, we probably are. We just need to work with the right photographer to meet our needs- right?

The exciting thing for you is that, when you work with me, you are investing in me, a professional. A highly skilled and trained photographer who is also a loving human who has also been exactly where you are.

Not only do my team and I help you literally pick out and figure out exactly what to wear, so that you feel like yourself in your photos, BUT, I am here to walk you through all those big nerves, feelings and emotions as we get closer to your session.

I often talk to my clients about shifting the perspective or reframing the dialogue. What does that mean?

It means, rethinking our why. Rethinking our purpose for booking a session. Rethinking and reshaping how we talk ourselves through those big emotions and nerves that inevitably pop up pre shoot.

Let the focus be on how you want to feel vs. how you want to look or appear in your photos. Obviously you are going to have some super bomb photos of yourself- that's a given.  It can be hard to retrain our brain to think less about looks and more about feel, especially if we've never done a boudoir session before.

Reframing your mindset prior to your session will really help you stay present throughout the entire shoot.

Ya know what’s the best part of all? I guide you entirely through the session, pose by pose. I direct you on where to look, I remind you to breathe, I fix your hair and your lingerie for you (with permission- hello consent). I am literally there, holding space for you, cheering you on, making you laugh, loving you up, and allllll of the good stuff in between.

The final photos become the “chefs kiss” / “icing on top of the cake” moment.

It becomes more about how incredible you felt during the session. How you felt empowered, seen, celebrated, beautiful, IN THIS MOMENT.

Regardless of how you felt prior or when you arrived or even in the first pose.

If you are reading this and thinking, “damn, I want that” - then guess what?

You are ready.
