LET’S GET ONE THING STRAIGHT FIRST - YOU DO NOT NEED MAKEUP IN ORDER TO BE BEAUTIFUL OR DO A BOUDOIR SESSION.

Plenty of my clients book their session and they do their own hair and makeup or they come makeup free because they want to feel beautiful as they are. i support it and i love it and i think that however YOU want to see yourself is the right thing to do.

That said, makeup can also be an awesome way to pamper yourself further in this experience. So, if you’re unsure of what to do, take a glance at this little list of “benefits” that i put together. i am hoping it’ll help you decide for yourself!

HAIR AND MAKEUP IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SESSION FEE - HEAR ME OUT.

I believe you should be able to make the choice in booking hair and makeup for yourself and choose an artist you feel excited to work with. That said, I primarily work with @lindsey.shokouhi for all sessions and she is one of the best and most badass out there. You know how some makeup artists can be intimidating? That’s not Lindsey. She is warm and kind and also knows her shit. Here’s why you should add her on to your session!

01. she’ll come to the studio for you - eliminating the stress of having to go to several locations on your session day.

So many makeup artist’s charge a travel fee to come to you. Lindsey does not. She will come to the studio to get you glammed up and it’s an amazing way for us to hang out and spend time together before your session starts!

02. she knows the questions to ask to create a custom makeup look for you (do you want light or full coverage on the face? Matte or a slight shimmer on the eye?).

No two makeup looks are the same and Lindsey will go as natural or as full out glam as you want. All she needs from you is 1-3 solid inspiration photos of what you’re looking for. From there she’ll ask even more questions to understand how you want your makeup look to feel!

03. she uses incredible, quality products and brands.

& if you have a specific foundation or concealer or lip you like, you are welcome to bring it with you and she can use that if you prefer!

04. she’s efficient.

I’ve worked with some makeup artists that take almost 2-2.5 hours to do makeup and hair and when you have 2 hour session following makeup - that makes it a long day. Lindsey will get you in and out in 1 hour which is super respectful of our time and schedule

05. she’s a real person + she’s amazing.

She’s kind and empathetic. We’ve literally had clients come to us broken hearted. We’ve had clients cry in the chair while in makeup and she is always there to offer love, support and a tissue.

05. She doesn’t require payment to reserve her for your shoot.

This one is huge, as most artists require you pay 50% of your booking fee up front to even block the date. Lindsey happily accepts payment at time of service which helps offset and split up the various costs for your experience!
