A Boudoir Backstory

Way back in the day, boudoir was this taboo, heteronormative “thing” that women only only only ever did for their husbands. It lacked empowerment. It lacked female gaze. It just lacked.

During the 2016 body positive movement, photographers and clients alike began to shift alongside the culture. Boudoir became about so much more than male gaze.

In the new age of the influencer era, we started seeing more variety in body types in both fitness + fashion. This “self-love” shift is what really inspired everyday women to look at themselves with a different perspective.

We also saw more photographers working with more people who were open to being photographed and booking the session for themselves.

Culturally, this was such a transformative time. Social media became a gateway for women to take their power back and share their stories.

So you might be thinking, “that’s cool, but why would I book something like this?” - well that’s my point. Simply because.

You don’t need a person. You don’t need an occasion. You don’t need anything other than yourself.

You don’t need to lose the weight or be in the best shape of your life.

In fact, I happen to think one of the best times to do this is when you feel lost, unsure of yourself + like you need a pick me up. Yes, being in a good headspace always helps, but with the way I lead you through it, it might feel more like therapy than a photoshoot. And that’s a good thing.

I offer flexible payment plans that are interest free and intended to meet you where you’re at so you can get your butt in the studio and feeling the empowerment you deserve.

Pre-shoot, I will help you decide what to wear and find things that feel aligned with who you are and what you are comfortable with. During the session, we’ll take that focus of how you want to see yourself and what feels authentic to you and I will guide you from pose to pose 100% of the time. You will be directed with what to do with your face, where to place your hands and I’ll take care of styling your hair and making sure your outfits look styled to perfection.
