Women of the west

About six months ago-

I noticed a major shift in the work I was making & I realized that the things that were inspiring my work, were also shifting + evolving. I was becoming more drawn to the California/Western landscape, my connection and deep love for California in the 70’s, and where I fit into all of it.

I am a self proclaimed “old soul”

To be honest, I always felt like I belonged in a different decade or era. Even in high school, while others my age were shopping in places like Hollister or American Eagle (so funny to think about now), I was finding joy in sifting through racks of vintage clothing at this store called Checkered Past back in Harrisburg where my dad lived. I loved the feeling I got from wearing something from the past. I often wondered, “where did this come from, who wore it before me?”

As I got older, finding vintage clothing turned into furnishing my home with really cool and old vintage furniture. And it turned into an obsession with old films, photographs, etc. You’re probably wondering, “what does this have to do with anything?”.. I am getting there, I promise.

Intention is everything.

Everything in my studio is intentional. Each piece of furniture has its purpose and plays its part in my space.

In the same way, I really enjoy making imagery that feels like it wasn’t made today. Imagery that feels intentional. I love collaborating with women who share that same love of the past with me.

I realized this connection last fall and have since been on a mission to create more of this imagery both in my boudoir studio and out in the world.

Even though I learned early on that empowering everyday women through life changing boudoir sessions and experiences was what I was called to do, there’s this other side of me that really enjoys creatively capturing women within the western landscape and making work that just feels like soul work.

I decided this work needs to live on my website and on instagram in a separate space, and thus I created my instagram account “Women of the West”. This work needed its own space to live and breathe and inspire more of this kind of image making.

bringing boudoir + fashion work together

Since I discovered this way of making and creating, I realized I wanted my new brand and new site to really speak to both of these things. I could not be a boudoir photographer without making this body of work, period.

It is with so much excitement that I finally have a place for all of this work to live and breathe and grow. I hope you enjoy it my friends!

*I’d also like to add a disclaimer that there are other accounts online with this same title and while I chose this name for my instagram account, this is not a new business or operating business under this name.

Ready to book your session?

I sure as hell hope so!
