Celebrating a new era of Carrie anne kelly studios

Today is the day, friends.

Holy shit. HOLLLLYYYYY SHIT. I am so excited to have you here & celebrating with me!

I have been talking about this new brand since I began working with Emily, over at Amavi Studio, in January!! January. It has felt like such a big secret to keep but today is the day we celebrate!

The inspiration behind this new rebrand was simply me wanting to elevate my branding & my website to reflect this new way of shooting and creating. I really have felt a big shift this last year in the way I work, what inspires me, and where I want to go moving forward. I just felt like my older brand wasn’t connecting to me or my audience anymore.

The new Carrie Anne Kelly brand is editorial and elevated with a hint of retro vibes. I wanted my brand to feel inclusive and current but tie in all things western California retro edge. Because that’s me!

I’ve worked so hard to create a space that feels unique and special to me and I really wanted my brand to speak to that because the truth is, the experience I offer is also one of a kind and unique.

Emily took all my jumbled ideas - wanting to mix editorial chic with retro elegance - and literally created the brand. of. my dreams. I think the part that literally made me cry was when she created and then described my color palette as “Inspired by the streets of Southern California on a warm fall afternoon in the 70’s.” Like come onnnnnnn! Ugh. So spot on.

Speaking of the color palette, I wanted my brand colors to evoke the feeling I get when I exist amongst the western landscape. Anyone who knows me, knows that I belong in California. The desert, the ocean, all of it- inspires me. Earthy hues to let my clients know that I am super easy going and down to earth and will help you feel the most comfortable & confident while working with me.

The ultimate goal was to tie in clean line work with a bit of funky retro flare through the typography and design elements. She literally nailed it.

The best part about this entire experience has been feeling refreshed and rejuvenated as I work on all things design. I have always loved the way typography and imagery can play off one another. It feels like everything has come together full swing and works to tell the story of my brand, who I am as a business owner, and what you can expect when you invest in a session with me.

why it’s important to have a brand voice

A “brand voice” was not something I was aware of until my very first time working with Emily. And the cool thing is, once you find your brand voice, and use that to tell the story of your business, you just continue to gain more and more confidence within your business and the way you do things.

If you know me, you know that I have always felt loud and proud about my story, my beliefs, how I do things and what’s important to me. I am an open book, always sharing the different layers of my being and what inspires me, what makes me sad, what lifts me up, what keeps me going.

I needed my brand to fully encompass all of that. I need my clients to get a big ol’ sense of who the heck I am when they’re taking the journey through my website. I want my potential clients to feel excitement not only when they see my imagery but when they read my “why”. I want them to be able to see themselves within the women on my site and feel inspired like they know there is space for them. And most of all, I want them to know that they are welcome, and we do big big work within the walls of my studio. We heal, we connect to our bodies, we laugh, we roll around, and we get some beautiful photos taken.
