Why We Look Through Your Unedited Images After Your Session | Oceanside, California Boudoir Photographer

One of the most unique aspects of the experience I offer, is that after we shoot, we sit down together and look through your unedited images. I know what you’re thinking- “You want me to look at my * gulps * unedited photos??Yes. Yes I freaking do.

Here’s the thing. I have been doing what I do and working with women for a very very very long time. (I am only 33, but I started this business of mine when I was 23). That’s a lot of women that I have led through this experience. Women who have never done anything like this. Women who have never liked photos of themselves. Women who stay far far away from the camera. They all have something else in common- they LOVED their photos and the LOVED looking at them unedited which was unexpected for them. Don’t believe me? Check out my 100+ 5 star reviews on Yelp from my clients.

I show my clients their unedited images after we shoot because I believe it is important to show people how incredible they actually are. Most of the time, we have a very distorted view of ourselves and part of why we do a boudoir session is to work through those feelings to eventually overcome them. I also believe it’s important to show my clients that, the editing I do, is just a supplemental * chefs kiss *, icing on the top of the cake, finishing touch.

The editing does not change who we are or make us more beautiful or worthy or love-able.

And 99.99% of the time, my clients actually say that they can’t believe the photos ARE unedited and they would be happy with them the way they are.

There is SO much power in giving your clients a true, honest, view of themselves. I take so much pride in the work I do as a photographer and It would be a disservice to not include my client in this way. If I only showed my clients final, edited, images, I am just perpetuating the message that you can only love photos of yourself when they are in their final, edited form. That’s just not true. As I always say, when you’re looking for a boudoir photographer, book with someone who’s mission and values align with what you want to get out of this experience. Not all boudoir photographers are the same or have the same hopes and goals for you. My hope and goal for my clients - always - is to leave the session feeling like they have a newfound love for themselves and that they actually got to SEE and experience their real, true selves and now have these beautiful photos as a representation of that. That’s what I want for everyone.

Now, enjoy some beautiful photos of my client, Star, who has booked THREE Sessions with me in the last 2 years.
